ONE ON THE HOOK

Last week I posted a 5x7 painting of this gentleman. I liked it enough to try it again in a larger (11x14) format. This time I added his little grandson.

Although I live on the coast, I have not done many seascapes. It was a learning experience, creating all the blues/greens/purples that were in the water.

I have a new camera and I am having problems with photographing my paintings. Notice the vertical lines visible on this posting and the one below. Does anyone out there know what the problem is? Trust me, the lines are not on the paintings and changing the resolution does not seem to help. Also, it is not consistant. The next photo I take may be just fine. Help!

KEY WEST PATRIOT, SOLD

We were in Key West for a short vacation. One day we were walking down the street, it was hot and humid, and I saw this cute house. The porch looked so inviting, I could just imagine myself sitting there with a glass of lemonade in one hand and a fan in the other. I immediately developed a southern accent. This is a 5x7 oil on canvas panel. If you are interested in purchasing any of my paintings, please leave a comment and I will reply to you.

STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM, SOLD

Who can resist painting strawberries with their luscious red color. I placed the berries in a favorite creamer and set it on top of a mirror inside my light box. I liked the painting and wanted to show it to you even though the photograph is less than perfect with the glare in the corner. This is a 5x7 oil on canvas panel.

READY FOR THE PITCH - SOLD

This is another painting of my grandson, waiting for the big pitch. I did three paintings of him in mid-game and gave them to him to hang in his bedroom. The third painting is an action shot of him sliding into base. This gave me the idea to dig through some old photographs of my children and paint them. I found two of my favorite photographs of my son and daughter when they were pre-school age and enjoyed painting them very much. I highly recommend it to all you fellow artists.

CRAB ON IT'S BACK after VanGogh

This is another of my "Master's" paintings. Originally painted by Vincent VanGogh, I think this is my favorite "reproduction". It was so much fun to paint. VanGogh was truly a master of brushwork. Trying to duplicate his strokes was a real challenge and very educational for me. This is a 10x10 on stretched canvas. THE STINKEYE - SOLD

My grandson Kevin eats, reads, and sleeps baseball. Every summer he goes to baseball camp, and, if I do say so myself, he is pretty darn good. Naturally I make the trek down to see his games when ever I can. He likes to play the catcher position and in this painting he is trying to stare down a player who is threatening to steal a base. The dreaded Kevin STINKEYE!

ZIGGY AND ZEUS - SOLD

The three Z's, Zack, Ziggy and Zeus. Contact me by leaving a comment if you are interested in having a portrait of your pet.

ZACK - SOLD

I like to paint animals. One client came to me with three white standard poodles and commissioned portraits of each. As much of an animal lover as I am, I was not sure I could capture the personalities of three individual but identical dogs. My client was very happy and recognized each dog from his portrait. They are some of my favorite animal portraits.

PALM ISLAND, SOLD

Several years ago, Jeff and I went on a sailing ship to the Trinidad/Tobago area of the Caribbean. It was pure heaven and this is just one of the beautiful scenes that we found in every direction we looked. If you are interested in this 5x7 painting contact me by leaving a comment and I will reply with purchasing information.

HE'S GOT ONE!

We live on the east coast of Florida, and with a 5 year old grandson in town, we visit the beach often. This gentleman was having a great fishing day, pulling in one after another. My grandson was entranced by the whole procedure. If you are interested in purchasing this 5x7 painting, leave a comment and I will reply with purchase information.

TOMATO DANCE - SOLD

I went to the grocery and when I came home I set the tomato on the window sill. A few hours later the sun was pouring in through the window and I just had to set up my easel and paint them before the scene changed. I was very happy the sun didn't go behind a cloud and ruin my painting. This is a 5x7 painting on canvas panel. If you are interested in purchasing, leave a comment and I will reply with purchase information.
