POPPIES, 5X7, ORIGINAL OIL, SOLD

Can you think of anything better that a field of poppies? They are one of my favorite flowers. One of my favorite things about North Carolina are the wildflower fields you find planted next to the roads there. These are from the Bryson City area, off the Smokey Mountain Expressway.

Breathtaking! Just had to give it a try.
If you are wondering why two photos. The first one had too much glare and really bothered me, so I tried to post another. Now it seems there is no way to get rid of the glaring photo!
Also, is anyone having trouble with the "following" feature? I have over 100 blogs that I "follow" but it seems I only get updates on about 20. This morning I spent several hours going through my list and checking out blogs that I have not heard from in some time. It kind of defeats the purpose of "following" when you don't get updates!

FIRST GARDENIA, 6x8, OIL,SOLD

I don't do a lot of flowers, they frustrate me, but I am planning to try a few. I felt I had to give this one a try. I was on my way to paint with my group, wondering what I would work on, and when I stepped outside, my gardenia bush had it's first bloom of the season. I took it along, was not successful but tried again later in the day.

THE TUG, 5x7, OIL, SOLD

Snapped a photo of this odd looking tugboat while having lunch at Port Canaveral one day. Maybe it's not a tugboat??? Any of you boat people know?

THE ORANGE SKY, 5X7, OIL,SOLD

Another surf painting. I tried to trick everyone by referring to the sky in the title. I must say, I like this one, quite abstract for me.

ANOTHER BERRY, 5X7, OIL

Not a very inspired name, which, I guess, tells you something about my state of mind today!

Still feel half asleep, must find caffine!

FLORIDA WETLANDS, 8X10 - SOLD

My friend, Donna Vines, and I went on a photo shoot one evening, out to the Viera wetlands. The wetlands is home to hundreds of species of waterbirds and assorted creepy crawlies like snakes and gators. Thankfully, we only saw birds. Thankfully, also, we saw a stunning sunet!
So, this painting is probably not correct, with the glow from the sun pulling your eye out of the painting, but somehow, I still liked it. I think the darkness provides enough interest to pull your eye back and through the painting.

CARLA'S SUNSET, 11X14 OIL ON MASONITE, SOLD

Our friends, Bill and Carla, have just built the most beautiful house in North Carolina. It clings to the side of a mountain and has beautiful views year round. Carla e-mails the most wonderful photographs to me, naturally I have to paint them. This is my latest attempt to capture the awesome beauty of nature they are fortunate enough to view each day.

THREE PEARS

This is one I have been working on, not too sure if it is finished. I think it will not be a favorite, maybe I should just ditch it!
