THE BIG ONE, 7X5, OIL, SOLD
This little guy was staring down "the big one". It must have looked a mile high to him. This is kind of a companion piece to the previous post. Thanks to Donna Vines for allowing me to paint from two of her favorite photos.
What a great sense of anticipation in this picture. Possibly some hesitation as well! Love the color combination as well...the blues with the touch of reds and orange. Great piece.
Love it! It reminds me so much of visiting my grandparents in Florida growing up loving life at the beach with my boogie board. Ah, the good 'ol days! :)

ReplyDeleteGreat job on capturing the gesture of this boy. I like your brushstrokes, too. And the blues are lovely. Very nice painting!
ReplyDeleteLove the anticipation in this! Great job on the figure and getting that really "wet" look on the skin and tube.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant composition Carol.
ReplyDeletemy first visit to your blog. Liked the beach sceneries. the pastel shades and the brush strokes rendered so effortlessly!
ReplyDeleteVery evocative, I love how all the focus is on this little wet and shiny boy with the blue innertube. Lovely.
