I don't paint a lot of flowers so I thought I would give one a try. This is from a photo I took a couple of years ago in North Carolina. I found this beautiful plant full of blooms in a neighbor's yard. The plant had a least 10 blooms on it and stood waist high.

Beautiful!! What gorgeous whites.
ReplyDeleteAs I've said before Carol, you can paint anything! And this flower is a perfect example. The colors are lovely and those touches of red and orange just give it that nice bit of energy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.... You should paint flowers ore often.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your whites are gorgeous and I love the red! You should paint more flowers!
ReplyDeleteLove the subtle whites of this lily.

Lovely lily Carol! I love the way you handled those delicate petals.
ReplyDeleteSweet lily Carol. I especially like the shadows.
ReplyDeleteYou may not paint flowers often but it certainly doesn't show...this one is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteI really like your treatment of the shadows and the little touches of red keep the eye moving.
Great job on the flower. Notice I never paint them. They are tricky!
ReplyDeleteFor a change I was not surprised by the choice of the subject but I was surprised to know that you normally do not paint such regular subjects. Brilliant as usual.
