MARSHLANDS, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

This has been a terrible week, with all the tragedy in Japan.  It seems every morning brings more bad news.  The people have conducted themselves in a calm manner, waiting in lines for 10-12 hours to get water or other necessities of life, without complaint.  I don't know if I could go through the compounded disasters of loosing my family, my home and maybe my country.

I believe they have shown the whole world how strong they are and how to react in an unimaginable crisis
with dignity.  I am only heartened by the many organizations that I see trying to gather help for them.   We must all do whatever is possible to help.

In other news, my painting give-away on Art by Karena was a grand success and the painting is on it's way to Blayne Beacham of Atlanta, Ga.  Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to Blayne.  I wish I could have sent a painting to everyone.

    This Japan stuff is wild, and I'm so glad that people are willing to give and help. When I was a kid, I was pen-pals with a missionary's kid who lived there. I hope they're back here in the states.

    Carol, I have had a heavy heart this week thinking about Japan's disaster...

    Your lovely painting reminds me of the Marshes of Glynn and many good times as a teenager. As always, you have great light and color.

    Carol you expressed so well what we all think about this unbelieveable disaster, but the population is incredibly strong and filled with dignity.

    Did you use a knife on the whole painting? Love all that texture, and the soft greens mix so well with the orange. Great perspective as well.

    I'm so sorry that I haven't visited in a while. I miss seeing your beautiful paintings, and photos of these paintings.
