FINAL INSPECTION, 6X8, OIL, SOLD
My friend Genie, from the blog Paris and Beyond travels Paris, taking unusual and fascinating photos. I am planning a trip to Paris in the spring and spend a lot of time on Genie's blog, drooling over her gorgeous photos. When I saw this shot of French sailors in their colorful uniforms, I couldn't resist.
Thank you Genie, for being so generous with your images and for your glorious views of Paris.

Very nice painting, Carol! Love the gesture of the sailors. I have checked out her site and she does beautiful photography. It makes one want to go to Paris!!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, I have a little French blog too and will rush off to see that blog. How lucky you are to have a trip lined up. I love the painting, it is so different and tells a lot about the moment in time!
ReplyDeleteI really like this one!
ReplyDeleteYour talent amazes me and how nice that we love French subjects, whether café cups à la still life or sailors on Quatorze Julliet (Bastille Day). The blues in this portrait are lovely.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to see the original it is on my very first post: July 14, 2010.
Thank you, dear friend, for honoring my art medium with yours.
Bisous,
Genie

ReplyDeleteOooo its hard to resist men in uniform in any form....you've made it irresistible!

ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteI had to stop in to see how you interpreted Genie's wonderful photo with your brush! IT's marvelous. You do such beautiful work. I hope your trip this spring is as magical as all of mine have been. BTW, I've been lucky enough to enjoy Paris with Genie once and we can't wait for another trip together.
