GRAND CENTRAL STATION SCALLIONS, OIL, 8X6, SOLD

If you have ever been to Grand Central Station, you probably know the beautiful grocery there.  Oh, if only I could have that store in my neighborhood.  The most beautiful and tempting foods combined with the most unique and interesting displays I have ever seen in a grocery.  A feast for the eyes and a winning combination.

  10. Oo, lovely. Chop chop chop. It must be Spring...I can smell them. Time for an omelet - out into the garden for goodies! Oh. It's February. Everything is still brown muck. Sigh.

Thanks for a nice fresh painting! I know little about technique but I liked the white too - it feels crisp and crunchy. It's quite something, the way paint can add expression more powerfully than a photograph that way. The way we see the world is most complex - painting is a language process, I guess, just like poetry.

  23. I call these shallots in Australia. I love using them in cooking. You've captured them really well. They do tend to flop and curve a bit.
