Daily Abstract Painting, "Texture" 20x16", Mixed Media


If you follow my blog, you probably are aware of my interest in abstract art.  Although I will continue with my impressionism paintings, I do have a growing desire to dabble in the abstract area.


This painting is a study of texture.  I wanted to keep color to a minimum.


I used molding paste, acrylics and oil pastels to achieve the desired effects.

    Neat! You will be so proud of me...I painted two tiny paintings this week VERY LOOSELY which is hard for me.

    Very evocative. I can imagine being right inside a special kind of lighted landscape here. Love the texture too.

    Carol, I enjoy your blog and I love this painting! This painting radiates peace and tranquility. My mind's eye envisions a body of water and fog early in the morning. Wonderful!

    Love your abstract, very sophisticated and minimalist. I know the need to paint abstractly, it's such a release to get away from the representational. This is really great.
