Flower Painting, Iris Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8" on Canvas Panel

I spent most of the spring in the mountains of North Carolina, surrounded by flowers everywhere.  They must have the perfect environment for flowers, and I loved every minute of it.  This is one of the beautiful iris' I photographed during my stay.

I had a difficult time getting this painting to the finishing point, but turns out, my real struggle was in trying to get a decent photograph of it.  I find that blues and greens tend me merge when photographed, especially blues.  I took many photos of this painting, under different conditions, but I believe many of the subtle color changes were lost.  Note to self:  Don't do blue and green paintings, and don't do very dark paintings.....also impossible (for me) to photograph well.

In any event, thanks for viewing my art today.

Panoramic Seascape Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Impressionist Seascape, 8x16x.75" Oil

I am trying to break my current addiction to painting flowers, so I dug through my files and found a great image of the ocean.  I have a new (for me) size canvas, 8x16" that I thought would work well for the image.

I have to admit, I enjoyed painting this scene.  My choices of subject matter are always based on emotion and on this day......the waves filled my need for action.

Thanks for reading my blog today....If I were in Florida, I'd be off to the beach.

Floral Bouquet in Oil, Daily Painting, 6x8" Still Life Painting SOLD

I made up a small bouquet of flowers, to take to an elderly neighbor, and snapped a few photos as they set on my window, waiting to be delivered.

SOLD
I am forever photographing flowers.  I am attracted by their colors and various shapes and have a very large file on my computer dedicated to their images.

I wanted to practice painting a rose, trying to just suggest the flowers without too much detail.  I think it was a good exercise for me.

Thanks for viewing my blog today.

Bromeliad Painting, Small Oil Painting, Garden Painting, Daily Painting, 8x16x.75" Oil SOLD

I like all kinds of flowers, but bromeliads are one of my favorites.  Their varities are endless and they usually thrive with little or no help....just what I need!

SOLD
I want to thank Pat Garvey, photographer, for the use of his image as a reference.  He captured the most wonderful light, which is what attracted me to this subject matter.

There is a lot going on in this painting, and I had to edit myself several times.

ABSTRACTIONS!!, Abstract Paintings, Daily Paintings. daily painter

SOLD
Although I have been painting, I find myself at the awkward place where I have let myself run out of photographed pieces.  The weather has been rather gray which makes it hard to photograph the colors accurately.  So today, I am posting some abtract paintings.  Most of these are sold, but they may be available as prints on canvas, if desired.
SOLD
I have had the urge to try some more abstracts, but have really been trying to focus on impressionism, in the hopes of sharpening my skills.  My abstract desires, are like a "guilty pleasure" that I have been resisting.

If I had doubts about my leanings toward cool colors....it is pretty obvious to me now.

Photo from my customer!

I am trying to catch up from several weeks away, so today, I am posting something a little different.  One of my customers was kind enough to send me images, of my art on her wall, and I thought it would be fun to post today.

She was in the process of remodeling her kitchen and wanted a pop of color on one wall.

After many emails and conversations, she decided on these three giclee' prints on canvas.  We decided to have a large print in the center and two slightly smaller prints on the sides.

The lemon painting and the artichoke painting were from a farmer's market in Rome, Italy.  They brought back wonderful memories for me.

She was so excited and thrilled with the results.  Thank you, Rose, for sharing this image with me.  It is always exciting to see my art installed in someone's home.

Thanks for reading my blog today.
