Rustic Mountain Landscape, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, Palette Knife Landscape, 6x8" Oil on Panel SOLD

A view of one of the more popular sites on the Blue Ridge Parkway......Water Rock Knob.

SOLD

This is an extremely textured artwork.  I enjoy texture in some of my work, and I may have gotten a little carried away, on this piece.  Or maybe not!  I like it and hopefully someone else will too.

Art is such a personal decision.  There are many rules to learn, as a student artist, but, after you learn the rules, you also learn when you can bend them.

Gone to the Dogs, Dog Paintings, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting,

My niece Kayla, asked me to paint a small portrait of her dog.  It reminded me of all the dog portraits I did, when I first started painting.

People have such an emotional connection with their pets.

I  enjoy the personality that show in pictures of dogs and I strive to capture that quality in my paintings.

Some of my favorites...

Have a happy day!

Pink Bouquet Artwork, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 6x8" Oil on Canvas Panel

I wanted to practice painting flowers, and found a reference in my files.

Purchase here

Trying hard to put into practice the techniques Elio Camacho tries to push into my head.  Brushwork, color relations, composition, the bride!  Not sure if I was successful, but, there is always tomorrow!

Thanks for viewing my blog today.

White Rose Still Life Painting,Botanical Art, Bouquet Painting, Flower Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 6x8" Oil on Canvas, SOLD

Birthday Flowers!!

SOLD
Way back in December, my son and his wife sent me some beautiful flowers for my birthday.  The first thing I did was photograph them.  Then I forgot about the photos!

I finally found them last week, and decided to try my hand at one.  I am very intimidated  by flowers.  They seem so complex and I rarely meet that sweet spot between too little or too much detail.  I am not so sure about this one, but I do like the colors.

Try, try and try again!

Sweet Success! A daily painter makes it into the movies.

Today is a special day for me!

It's the premiere opening of the new
Joaquin Phoenix - Robert DeNiro movie, "Joker".

Warner Brother's purchased this painting from me, as set design, several months ago.  They were filming in Brooklyn, at the time, and I have been waiting to see it released.

They chose this small (8x10") still life painting.  I envision that it will be hanging on the wall of some dark and dreary brownstone, decorated in the style of your great grandmother.

Thanks for viewing my blog today!
