FLORIDA WETLANDS, 8X10 - SOLD

My friend, Donna Vines, and I went on a photo shoot one evening, out to the Viera wetlands. The wetlands is home to hundreds of species of waterbirds and assorted creepy crawlies like snakes and gators. Thankfully, we only saw birds. Thankfully, also, we saw a stunning sunet!
So, this painting is probably not correct, with the glow from the sun pulling your eye out of the painting, but somehow, I still liked it. I think the darkness provides enough interest to pull your eye back and through the painting.

I've seen Florida wetlands and I think they are fascinating with the beautiful and interesting wildlife and flora. You have definitely conveyed the mystery of those locations and those gators may have been closer than you think!!

Carol: This is very reminiscent of the "backwaters" of Kerala, the place that I wrote about in one of my posts. The backwater is an intracoastal waterway with an ancient lifestyle that persists to this day. Fishing and cultivating rice is a way of life........

Love the "sun" contrasting w/ the dark. Great piece.

I agree about the dark trees balancing. I really like the placement of the light--intensifies the feeling that it's just leaving the scene, and we won't see it for long.
Beautiful painting, Carol.
