QUEEN OF SUNFLOWERS, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

I think that sunflowers are the personification of summer.  The stunning and huge flowers always remind me of a queen looking down on her subjects.  I can never look at one without smiling.  I have always admired  sunflower paintings (starting with Vincent) but never tried one until today.  Such fun!

Love the blue yellow combination and the thick loose brush strokes! A very vibrant painting. Your first try is certainly a success!

I am not surprised to see that you've done an exceptional job on this since you paint everything equally well. Love the super thick paint and the bit of purple around the center. That purple is the perfect compliment to the golden yellow. Beautiful!
