If you follow this blog you may remember a post from last week of a mountain church. This is number two in what may become a small series. I find it to be very interesting painting these little churches. They all have their own personality. I had an interesting afternoon traveling from one to another taking photos. Today is Labor Day and it has been dark and rainy and seemed like the perfect time to pull out my easel and give one of these little churches a try. This one is located in western North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Carol, this is beautiful. It's a great idea for a series.
Nice one, Carol. I love to photograph churches, especially at sunset or sunrise when there's a certain atmosphere. I'm sure you know what I mean.

the simplicity of the painting enhances the beauty of the church! looking forward to the series.
This is the perfect idea for a series! The simplicity of the shapes in beautiful North Carolina (or any state for that matter!). Your colors are just lovely in this painting!
Awesome job with the tree.
Love your new banner!
Hmmmmm... my sidebar showed a picture of Queen Anne's lace... what happened???
Ooh, little churches in tucked away places out in the country, that is an awesome idea for a series. Mtn Church II is especially striking and it is a classic example of churches in that area, really lovely!! Especially nice the lavendar shadows, pretty, pretty.
