PARISIAN CAFE, 8X8, OIL, SOLD

I am planning a trip to Paris, so when I saw Genie's photograph of a cafe table waiting to be cleared, I had to paint it!  Genie is the author of the interesting and fun blog, "Paris and Beyond" and she was kind enough to allow me to use her photograph from her January 15, 2011 post.  Check out her blog.  If you love Paris, you will love her blog.  If you have never been there, you will want to go!  Her fantastic photos of Paris, decorated for Christmas is reason enough to spend time with her.

Purchase here
$119.
Cindy Michaud blogged about ME!  Thanks, Cindy!  Read it here, it has a great Beef Bourguignon  recipe attached.

Neat that an image could move so easily from one artist to another, from one medium to another, from one place to another. Connection. This is a very good century for the arts so far, i think.

And thank you so much, Carol, for another painting to brighten my morning on this grey slow day here!

This is beautiful- you did a really nice job! I went to Paris and got a lot of wonderful photos, but this one is great- all the cafes I went to had white cups!

Carol, as you and I discussed the American photographer received some strange looks from onlookers as I snapped a few shots of "dirty coffee cups" on the terrasse of the Paris cafe. It was the composition of the cups with the menu handwritten on the blackboard "comme d'habitude" that caught my eye... so glad that you and I shared the "artist's eye" on this one.

Beautiful painting with rich colors... Mille mercis for honoring me.

Bisous,
Genie

wow..love these colors! Think I will make a cup of coffee. Paris is definitely on my list. The fellow who owns our studio complex takes a group every year to southern France to paint and they spend 2 or 3 days in Paris. I wish I had the money to do it..maybe next year.

I saw your comment on Brittany's french cooking blog and I thought I just have to look at what you are talking about. I'm not artist, but I can tell something beautiful when I see it! Fantastic. I hope to travel to France one day so I can see more beautiful works of art and try all the food; I love cooking (I have a blog too!).

The cups caught my attention but your upcoming trip to Paris made me right. ME TOO!!! I am taking my husband to Paris and we are spending 10 days there. I will catch the blog Paris and beyond and look more forward (?) to our vacation. I'll recognize you there by your paintings, I will be watercoloring. au revoir
