STUDIO TOUR TODAY

Today a group of painters are writing about our studios. There's so much variety in artists' working spaces - some have spacious studios and others work on their kitchen table. Now you can tour them online.

My studio is very bare bones....a small 10x10 room facing east.

The first thing you will notice when you enter, is not art related at all, but rather, a giant elephant in the room....my workout machine.

A small room, but I have space for my easel, my television, art books, CD player, and most importantly, my computer.  I almost always paint off my monitor.

I also have a small drafting table which holds my palette when I paint and also comes in handy when I am working on my mixed media pieces.  Somedays, I spend lots of time sitting there and staring out the window.

I couldn't have a studio without my closet.  I store all my supplies there, from frames to inventory.  Since I have started doing a lot of mixed media, my supply shelves are getting very crowded with mediums, gels, papers and found objects.  Hmmmm, I think a re-organization is in order.

I sell most of my works on line, so much of it is in the small "daily painting" category.  It does make it easier to store around 150 paintings!

What I refer to as my "shipping department" is below these shelves.  It consists of a roll of bubble wrap,  odd and ends of foam core, a child's wagon full of styrofoam peanuts and misc pieces of shipping materials I re-cycle from shipments I receive.

Thanks so much for touring my studio today.  To continue on with this artist's studio tour, just click on one of the links below.

This is great! I love seeing someone else making it work in a 10' x 10' space! And you have fit an exercise machine in there besides! Wow that's making it work!
You have made this a wonderful space. Thanks for sharing.

You look very organized to me! Sometimes having more space just means more mess *cough marla cough*

I actually laughed out loud when I saw your work-out machine. I finally put my elliptical machine on Craig'sList. It was serving as a hat rack in my studio! Thanks for the tour.
