Art Sale, Daily Painting, Tropical Landscape, "Coconuts from Sanibel" by Carol Schiff, 6x8" Oil

This is one of two paintings I did of this tree, after a visit to Sanibel Island.  Sanibel Island is in the southern half of the state of Florida and considered as "tropical".  I live in Central Florida, which is considered "sub-tropical".  Being in the sub-tropics, we don't get coconuts growing on our palms, so I was attracted to something a little different.

That juicy, wonderful area of rusty red next to the green is really fabulous.
Interesting about tropical/ sub- tropical. I didn't realize about the different palm trees and coconuts. Interesting.
