Trying hard to put into practice the techniques Elio Camacho tries to push into my head. Brushwork, color relations, composition, the bride! Not sure if I was successful, but, there is always tomorrow! Thanks for viewing my blog today.

Abstract Seascape Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8" Textured Art, SOLD
This small seascape is a study for a much larger piece. The only question in my mind is "How large?"
I am very happy with the understated color which makes the brighter hues really pop. I am not sure if it would be call an abstract or impressionistic.......what do you think?
What I do know, I really enjoyed painting it and want to try it again and go BIG!

Mountain Stream Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 8x10x1.5" Oil on Canvas
If you have been in the Smoky Mts. or the Blue Ridge Mts., you will probably recognize this scene. A mountain stream, meandering through trees covered in fall foliage.
I often display my paintings on shelving, surrounded by favorite books and objects.
Thanks for stopping bye today!

Peony Still Life Giclee, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 14x18x1.5" Canvas Print
I painted this peony oil still life recently, at a workshop. I was concentrating on brushwork and values. The original is NFS, but I liked it enough to offer a limited number of prints.

| detail My workshop paintings have a different feel than most of my artwork. I think it is from the high level of concentration, that I feel in the classroom. Carol Schiff www.CarolASchiff.com www.CarolSchiffStudio.etsy.com |

Coastal Wall Decor, Seagulls Painting, Daily Painting, 20x24x1.5" Oil on Canvas
I spent the winter in Florida, and came home inspired! I loved walking on the beach and observing the many types of birds. I had the picture in my mind.....

Expressionist Painting, Seascape, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 9x12" Oil
Well probably your 5 yr old kid could do this....right? Maybe that is why I enjoy it so much.
I may be a slow learner, because it took me many years to get to this point. Mama never said I was the sharpest knife in the drawer.
All kidding aside, I really love the freedom of this piece. Instead of leaving the studio feeling like I have been fighting for hours, I felt very relaxed, happy and ready to sail through the day. I think I need to do this more often!

Blue Study Floral, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 12x16" Oil on Canvas Covered Panel
Have you ever done a painting, featuring just one color?
I have to say, it is not easy, but an excellent exercise. At first, it is easy to see warm blues, from cool blues, but as time goes on, they all start blending together. At least, that is my experience.
It was a relief to work on the flowers, just to ge a different color on the canvas.
Next up, a red painting? There is a saying that reds are the most difficult.
Have a happy day!
