BLUE HERON - SOLD

These days I paint primarily in oils, but I also enjoy pastels. When I have a pastel on the easel I find I have to stop and study it each time I walk by. I always get inspired, pick up a pastel and off I go. When I paint in oils, it's not that easy to be spontaneous. The down sides to pastels, in my opinion, are of course the dust and the framing issues. Not to mention my hands get really, really dirty. Still, the pure color and sparkle can not be duplicated. This 12x12 was painted on Canson paper.

Very nice Carol! I love the glow it has and the overall composition. Im doing a show in June of 09 that requires all canvases to be square - Thats a bit of a challenge!

Thanks Laine, the square composition is very pleasing to the eye.
