LUCY - SOLD

I hope that none of the PETA people come after me for this post. This is a commission that I recently completed. My customer requested a portrait of her beloved Lucy, a wire haired terrier. Lucy loved to catch squirrels, which is hard wired into the breed, and this is how my customer wanted her painted. I am happy with the results. This is a 9x12 oil on stretched canvas.

Hai Carol, poor squirrel. But lucky Lucy's owners - great painting.

hi Carol,
I love the way you worked the squirrel into the portrait. The brushstokes are just right, they give Lucy an air of pride in a job well done. Good one.

WOW! Carol this painting is FANTASTIC!! LOVE your brushwork. It took me a minute to recognize squirrel, but that's a good thing, I think. Outstanding & LOVELY DOG with wonderful modeling on fur and sparkly eyes. Way to paint.
