GRANADA SUNSET
Several years ago we took a week cruise on "Star Clipper", a 350 foot 5 masted sailing ship. We flew to Barbados, boarded the ship and a week long party was in session. It ranks up there as one of my top three best vacations ever.
This painting was inspired by that trip. Don't you think it looks like a party? It is full of thick paint, vibrant colors, and has that Carribbean feel.

Carol: This is a beautiful piece and, having lived in Jamaica, I can perfectly imagine the feel of the Caribbean. It is very much like a scene I have been working on (scratched and re-started a few times!) but which was inspired by the sight of tall North Carolina pines at sunset.
Sensational color...and yes it does look like a party!
I'm transported to a beautiful island....I'm being fanned by a cute cabana boy and .... oops... er, uhm great painting!
Wish you a very Happy Healthy and Creative New Year. warm regards,
Hi Carol. Bit late but better than never. Love this painting. Your use of colour is amazing, so rich and lush. I wanted to go the Caribbean last year for the cricket world cup but just couldn't see my way. Your painting has made me envious all over again.
