CARLA'S SUNSET, 11X14 OIL ON MASONITE, SOLD

Our friends, Bill and Carla, have just built the most beautiful house in North Carolina. It clings to the side of a mountain and has beautiful views year round. Carla e-mails the most wonderful photographs to me, naturally I have to paint them. This is my latest attempt to capture the awesome beauty of nature they are fortunate enough to view each day.

Carol, The colors are gorgeous. I just painted a couple on masonite and it is so slippery. I had trouble controlling the paint. It doesn't look as though you had any trouble. Great job!

This looks like a gorgeous place... I think you need to go there and paint it in person!!! Beautiful use of color, Carol.

Really nice job here with a difficult subject. The glow is just enough...not overdone.

Beautiful piece, Carol! I especially like how the glow of the setting sun colors the earth directly below it. I have observed this event many times and it's always spectacular!
