MY BUDDY, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

This guy is always hanging around the docks where we keep our boat. Although I didn't paint it in, I can tell it is the same pelican because he has been tagged and wears a metal band on his left leg. I think it is written somewhere that if you are an artist and reside in the state of Florida, that you MUST paint at least one pelican. This is my first one, I wanted to fulfill my requirements before the pelican police caught up with me.

He is a real old character! Well painted, I think you should do a set of them, Carol!

For this one you should get a medal from the Chief of the Pelican Police!

Your pelican is super. I like how the shape of the beak and the boat's riggings play on each other. I'm really enjoying your landscapes, too. The last three are excellent, Carol!

I love him/her! Your broad, bold strokes have the signature Schiff look and the pelican's plump body is perfectly framed by those lines. More please!

well, it is about time that you painted a pelican! j/k..Well, they truly are amazing, aren't they? They are so big--it is almost like they are the size of small dogs flying around in the air! lol. You did a fine job of immortalizing "your" pelican.

Well Carol he's probably been hanging around so much waiting for you to finally paint his portrait. And you did him justice! I bet he's bragging to all his friends now.

What fun! They are strange looking birds but I love the way you painted him. I especially like how you handled the head and beak. Every now and then we end up with a stray one in Colorado in the summer, way off course!

This pelican makes a very bold silhouette against the Florida sky. I especially like the dark feather textures. Nicely done!
