STILL HERE, 6X8, OIL SOLD

The equation of animal and vegetable life is too complicated a problem for human intelligence to solve, and we can never know how wide a circle of disturbance we produce in the harmonies of nature when we throw the smallest pebble into the ocean of organic life.

George Perkins Marsh
1801 - 1882

American conservationist was the first to reveal the menace of environmental misuse, to explain its causes, and to prescribe reforms.

130 years later, we are still struggling with the same problems.......and yet, the wild areas are "Still here".

Gorgeous landscape Carol, wonderful use of the greens.
And isn't it incredible that already 150 years ago they were worried about our disturbing the nature, and nothing really effective hasn't begun until a few years ago!!
Welcome back..looking forward to seeing some Parisian inspired painting :-)

Such deep philosophy Carol, but so true. Beautiful nature scene..I like how you have blended the background and used more energetic brush strokes in the foreground.

The color palette in this is so pleasing. Looks great on the easel, too!

Great quote. You would think we would have learned more by now.
