Trio of Marsh Landscape Paintings, Commission Your Painting, Small Oil Paintings, Daily Painting

 These are three 6x8" marsh landscapes from Amelia Island in northern Florida.  They were commissioned pieces that brought back happy memories for me.

Many artists do not enjoy commission work.  The idea you see in your mind may not be the same vision your client has, which makes it difficult.  I however, enjoy the challenge.

A few years ago, I was in the low country of South Carolina, when I did a photo shoot on the marshes.  I love the look of the marsh when a big storm moves in on it's way to the coast.

When the cool ocean breezes collide with the hot air over the interior of the state,  it produces monster rains.  Usually they are fierce, but short, dropping their rain and moving on quickly.

I like to build up layers of thick paint, with plenty of texture and colors.

When the rains come, you know the long hot summer days are here again.

SUMMER MARSH, 3X5, OIL, SOLD

I was in the Big Apple earlier this summer and while there, visited the Student's Art League.  They have a great facility and and wonderful gallery, open to the public, where they display their pieces for sale.  I don't remember the name of the store next door, but rightly enough, it was an art supply store.  While checking it out, I found these little 3x5" Winsor-Newton panels.  I have never seen this size before and thought it would be fun to try a few.  It was also the perfect purchase size as I didn't have much room in my roll-aboard suitcase.
