Daily Painting, Abstract Seascape, The Sea by Carol Schiff, 6x8" SOLD

SOLD

Time for another little abstract painting.  The more I paint, the more I want to experiment with abstracts and mixed media.

I try to keep a limited palette and have a rough composition in mind.  From there, anything goes and I am always surprised by the outcome.

Many abstracts will  work in a landscape or portrait format.  I think this is one that does.  Do you have a preference?

Here is a fun thought I found of Facebook last week. Finish this sentence, "You know you're an artist when....".

I will start off with this...You know you're an artist when you hide all the "pretty fruit" from you family until you have finished your still life.

You know you're an artist when you constantly find yourself  covered with paint on the strangest body parts.

Love the turquoise :) I know what you mean about the oriantationm of work, but definatly keep it portrait, always keep your work the way you painted it so that if there's something that perhaps doesn't work very well or as well as intended, you can figure it out and learn from it :)
Personally I'm always finding blue paint in my hair... not sure why, its not even always when I've been painting with blue :/ it just seems to apear haha, I have also stained my hands black with etching ink :)

Love your abstracts! I am playing with abstracts and abstracted landscapes myself. Color is so inspiring.
