Daily Oil Painting, Beau Gateau et les Petits, 6x8 SOLD

It translates as "Beautiful Small Cake".  I had lots of fun with this one,  I positioned the cake on a favorite pottery plate and got the most lovely aquas and lavenders.

Then I painted in creamy oils using both brush and palette knife.  Yummy!

Since we are talking food here, I though I would show you some strawberries I covered in chocolate for a recent party.

And how about these fabulous rolls made with feta and jack cheeses and spinach!  Sometimes cooking can be as much fun as painting.  Thanks for the food pictures, Kathy.

Start off the week with a smile :0)

J*E*L*L*-OOOOO*, 6x8, OIL SOLD

I decided to try something fun today...see if I could make a bowl of jello look a little dramatic.  You remember jello, that wiggly stuff, this is the orange flavor.  Of course, I had to pile it high with whipped cream.  You see, I have been trying to diet and jello is the only dessert allowed.  After six weeks of it, I am pretty much sick of it.  I dream of cookies and chocolate.

ALL DRESSED UP WITH NOWHERE TO GO, 5X7, OIL SOLD

Cupcakes are all the rage these days.  This little sweetie looks like it is dressed to the hilt, maybe waiting for that special guest appearance at a party.

I am having trouble with my comments.  Visitors have complained that they have trouble leaving comments, so I made some changes in the settings.  However, for the past 3 or 4 days, comments were being posted without moderation or notification to me, so I have made more setting changes.  Please be patient with me.  If I don't acknowledge your comment, please know that I have read it and do appreciate it.  Hopefully, I can work through this and come up with a solution to the problem.  I know I am not the only one having this problem, so if you can help me, please do!

CUPCAKE WITH CURLS, 5X7, OIL, SOLD

Curls???!!?!?  Well, yes!  This chocolate, monster-sized cupcake is filled with lemon curd and covered in white chocolate curls instead of frosting.  What devious mind thought of this irresistible combination?  It resided in my freezer for about a week, but I could feel it's presence, lurking in the kitchen, waiting to strike out when my defenses were down. Alas, defeated again!

PETITE GATEAU, 5X7, OIL, SOLD

Have you noticed that I have been veering away from my fruit and veggies and becoming obsessed with desserts?  I wonder if this has anything to do with the sudden uncomfortable situation I am having with my pants.  I have been blaming my doctor for putting me on a new medication that, according to me, is causing me to retain water.  Hmmmmm, I hope he is not a follower of my blog!

"MUFFINTOP" 5x7, OIL,SOLD

This may be a cupcake, but it has a real "muffintop".  Guess I got a little carried away when I was pouring batter into the pan.  Possibly it was because I always go for the largest one.  You could even say I have a slight "muffintop" myself.  Got to go, I think there is still one left in the kitchen.

CUPCAKE DRAMA, 5X7, OIL, CAROL SCHIFF STUDIO, SOLD

Why the drama, you ask?  Well, my paint group, Pieces of Eight, is planning an exhibition later this year featuring baked goods.   I have a very bad track record painting cupcakes, so far none of my tries have survived the dreaded wipe-off.  So I decided to practice a little.  I decided to pump the colors up as much as I could (more drama) and miracle of all miracles, I liked it!  So this may be my only cupcake painting on record.  I may not push my luck and try for another.

CHOCOLATE PUDDING, 5X7, OIL

Last week a few of my painting buddies got together for an additional paint date.  Donna Vines invited us to her beautiful studio.  She had a cupcake and this yummy bowl of homemade chocolate pudding with hand whipped cream as set ups.  Naturally we rushed through the painting portion so that we could get to the eating portion.  No "starving artists" in our group!
