ON THE ROCKS TOO - SOLD

I so enjoyed doing the painting last week of my granddaughter, so I decided to try one of her brother who was just down the river doing what boys do. He sat on this rock for hours watching kayaks and rafts gracefully run the rapids (or in may cases not so gracefully or so successfully).

Tomorrow I am off on a painting vacation with seven friends. We call ourselves "Pieces of Eight". We meet each week to paint and exhibit together and to "do lunch". This is our second annual trip together. We are going to the mountains of North Carolina and the seashore of South Carolina. Our plans are lots of painting, going to galleries, lots of good food and even more good wine!

The two make a great pair. Great poses on both of them.
Have a blast painting with your friends. I am heading off at the end of next week for a painting trip with 10 or 12 friends too.
Lots of energy and fun in trips like that.

Oh, wonderful! I like this even better than 'On The Rocks'. He looks so relaxed and happy, just as a kid should. Sums up a perfect summer day.

Frank and Sharon, Thanks so much for your nice comments. It's always fun for me to paint someone who means a lot to me. The vacation is "up in the air" this morning due to Hurricane Hanna and Tropical Storm Ike. The storms seem to be out to defeat me this year. Hopefully we can get out of here, but may have to change our dates.

Wow, Carol! How do you manage to do these so quickly and so well? Painting those we love is great therapy... Nice for them too if they like what we've done with them!
It sounds like you're off to a great fun trip. I'm looking forward to hearing of your adventures and seeing the great paintings you produce...
Isn't it interesting that 8 people can paint exactly the same scene and it comes out so very different because it reflects our own view of the world?
Be well...
Thanks so much for your kind words on my blog.

Both these are lovely.
Have fun on your painting trip. What fun! Can't wait to see what you have painted when you return.
