PELICAN PATROL, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

These are rare white pelicans that winter in our area.  I am not sure where they live in the summer, but in the winter they travel primarily to Sebastian, FL to hang out for a few months.  Now, I live maybe 25 miles away, but I have never seen a white pelican in my town.  They only go to Sebastian.  So here they are heading out to get some fresh dinner.

The birds are painted beautifully and the subtle reflections/colours in the water are lovely. Nice job!

Hi Carol, they are lovely!I saw the same amount of pelicans on the river the other day, pink under the wings, but they were quite far and wild!

These guys are too cute! You handled the whites well, I love the touches of yellow in there.

You've really captured the essence of these guys. They always look so serious in a comedic sort of way!? I love how you have made the feathers and head stand out with the thicker application of yellow/white paint.
