LILY, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

I don't paint a lot of flowers so I thought I would give one a try.  This is from a photo I took a couple of years ago in North Carolina.  I found this beautiful plant full of blooms in a neighbor's yard.  The plant had a least 10 blooms on it and stood waist high.

As I've said before Carol, you can paint anything! And this flower is a perfect example. The colors are lovely and those touches of red and orange just give it that nice bit of energy.

Sweet lily Carol. I especially like the shadows.

You may not paint flowers often but it certainly doesn't show...this one is a beauty!
I really like your treatment of the shadows and the little touches of red keep the eye moving.

Great job on the flower. Notice I never paint them. They are tricky!

For a change I was not surprised by the choice of the subject but I was surprised to know that you normally do not paint such regular subjects. Brilliant as usual.
