Grapes are my favorites, to eat. Black, green, red. As long as they don't have seeds, I will eat them and enjoy every one. I also like wine. That is all I'm going to say about that. So, maybe it is my fondness for grapes that makes me want to paint them. Or maybe it's because they are so easy. Drawing is a no brainer and who's to know if they are too big or too small or shaped a little oddly. But, I think it's the color that attracts me; especially with green grapes. They are so translucent and have all those yummy shades of green and blue, sometimes even purples in the shadows. What could be better than to throw them on a white windowsill and let the light stream in over them.

Great painting. Love your style.
I'm quite envious, I can't paint grapes to save my life! These are lovely, the colours are great and really add a hint of transparency to the grapes. There's a little of Cezanne about them too...
Lovely bunch of grapes, Carol. Lovely commentary, too. I needed that laugh this morning.
I am always struck by your brushwork on these fruit and vegetable still lifes. It just makes the images sing!
Love the colours you have used, they look so fresh, juicy and delicious.
This is lovely Carol! Really stood out on your Daily Painter Originals daily email this morning!! Congrats on being part of that. I'm so glad I could subscribe and keep up with you all!
Hi Carol:
You are right, grapes are fun to paint and you have captured the translucency perfectly! Love all the shades of green and blue...

Love those yummy greens and blues.
Oh my. This one just grabbed me. Your color choices are wonderful (and I love wine and that's all I'm going to say about that, too). But I am going to say, again, how lovely this painting is!
I love the blues and the greens - this combination is eye catching!
