COUNTRY ROADS, TAKE ME HOME, 6X12, OIL

Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains
Shenandoah River
Life is old there
Older than the trees
Younger than the mountains
Growin' in the breeze

I hear her voice
In the mornin' hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And drivin' down the road I get the feelin'
That I should have been home
Yesterday, yesterday

John Denver

One of my favorite songwriter and recording artists.

I find his music to be so moving.  It evokes images and memories of my childhood.

His lyrics  are as moving today and they were when he first wrote them.  Don't you miss him?

Grew up on country roads with John Denver on the radio- while riding down the road in the back of the pickup truck. Thanks for taking me back to that moment. This painting definitely reminds me of home. Beautiful, you always have such wonderful depth and brushwork in your paintings.

John Denver was our background music as I went to college in the 70's. I loved him so much. It is still hard for me to listen to his music today..miss him!
