Original Oil Still Life Painting, "Candle in Shadows", 6x8"

One day I became fascinated with the shadows of a palm that were streaming through my window.  I soon had a camera full of images of everything I could carry, push, pull or roll over to the window.

You may remember these shadows on a few other paintings that I have posted over the last few months!
I think one of the greatest advantages of being an artist, is our ability to look at the world with new, fresh eyes.

Love the deep blue tones and sculptural quality of the glass. It's the kind of brushwork I work to achieve in my paintings.
