PEARS, 5X7, OIL ON CANVAS PANEL, SOLD

I thought you all may be tired of postings of the ocean, so I decided to fall back on my "old faithful" and post a recent still life. Actually, I did paint plein air earlier in the week and was somewhat happy with the result. But, not that happy, and I have since painted over that attempt. There is a little glare on this photo. Does anyone have a sure fire way to photo dark backgrounds without the same result? If you wish to purchase, you can find this on my Etsy page.

I loved the sea paintings but the fruit ones are lovely and bright. Hope this one sells for you. Actually, I photo my images with an SLR camera underneath artificial overhead flourescent light which isn't too bad, the colours are not always exact but these can change according to how the monitor is set up on each computer anyway. I don't think it is ever exactly perfect. The flare is probably because there is some conflicting light on the lens, maybe from a window?. Overhead lighting and flash is best I think. If you are good at Photoshop you can fix your photo on there. I haven't got the patience with it myself.

I never tire of sea or ocean, hence never tiring of your paintings dear Carol. This is a luscious looking pear though....

All the shapes in this are so pleasing to look at. The warm color of the pear against the cool darks add drama. This is so beautiful!

No, no, no, one can never get tired of the way you paint the ocean, but your pears are pretty terrific as well.

I was also battling with taking a pic of a painting with a black background, so am very interested in anyone who comes up with a solution. Will try Carolann's way as well.

Love this one Carol, especially how the bright orange pops off the neutral grey-blue. Beautiful.
