THE CAT, 5X7, OIL

We live close to the intercoastal in Florida and one morning I went out for a photo shoot just as the sun was coming up. One of the places I visited was Eau Gallie Yacht Club in Indian Harbor Beach. Here I found this cat sitting in the still water with the causeway and buildings in the background.

Silly me, I was looking for the subject that had whiskers and a tale for a second. Lovely colors and the small palette combined with the broad brush strokes equal a wonderful piece!

Great lighting and reflections. I like the way the eye travels around the painting, and then stops at the wonderful brush strokes in the foreground.

Carol - this is really beautiful. I couldn't wait to enlarge it when I saw it. I am in love with the brushstrokes just above the horizon on the left - just wonderful.

Carol,
Absolutely love those horizontal brushstrokes in the sky. The overall color harmony is so pleasing.
