HOME GROWN TOMATOES, 8X10, OIL

There ain't nothin' in the world that I like better
Than bacon 'n lettuce 'n homegrown tomatoes
Up in the mornin', out in the garden
Get you a ripe one, don't pick a hard 'un
All winter without 'em is a culinary bummer
I forgot all about the sweatin' and the diggin'
Every time I go out and pick me a big 'un

John Denver

John was right!

I was just thinking about summer tomatoes last night, wishing for a slice with my turkey burger, I can almost taste them now!

Until I saw "J Denver" I thought you grew 'em...but you drew 'em...well, I might add.

Love this tomato painting and your John Denver quote. I always love to see how you set the paintings up to photo. Great idea. Good for folks to get a good idea of the scale. Are you also selling the spoon, cup and cook book?

Yum . . . I think I will make BLT's for lunch. I look forward to the real summer tomatoes.

Beautiful work, Carol.

Fondly,
Glenda

How nice, Carol! And I love the "still life with tomato painting"!

Neat, Carol....I love how you photograph your painting in a still life setting, too.

I love mine sliced on half a bagel, topped with provalone and toasted in the broiler.
I love art! I keep my eye on your blog in hopes that someday I wont be broke when I see something I want. :)

Beautiful Carol. Your painting reminds me of many wonderful meals.
There's nothing like a BLT.

Those tomatoes look like Cherokee Purples. We grow them here in Cherokee County.
