Fruit Still Life Oil Painting, Pineapple and Mango on Glass, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting

Purchase here

Today, I am featuring this pineapple and mango  oil painting, in a custom frame.  The piece is framed to 19x23".  The painting shows the fruit sitting on glass, and may be purchased with or without the frame.

Marketing, in my opinion, is one of the hardest parts of being an artist.  I don't know any artists who enjoy this part of the game. I will let you know how this idea works for me.

Thanks for viewing my blog today.

Pears on a Plate, 16x20, Original Oil

Summer is almost over....and what a summer it has been!  I'm afraid I have over scheduled myself, with trips every two to three weeks, family obligations, etc.  I still have two trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains  scheduled, one of which includes the most dreaded words in the English language.....bathroom renovation!

SOLD

My stash of paintings, ready to post, is no longer a stash....just a few images left to choose from.  So now I am in the studio, trying to paint, paint, paint before it's time to leave again.

One of those images, is this, a commission I did  in January.  The client loved a similar small piece and ordered two 16x20 still life paintings.  She was a joy to work with and did not even want to see an image of the completed works prior to receiving them.  She said it would be "more like Christmas" if she was completely surprised when she pulled them out of the shipping container.

She sent me several images of her home in San Diego, wanting me to get a feel for the space the paintings would reside.  I must have done something really good to be rewarded with the opportunity  to work with such a charming woman.

Cheers!

Oil Fruit Still Life, "Lemon, Granny and Blueberries" , SOLD 8x10"

It's been a while since I have done any still life.  Recently, I painted three that will be reproduced on bags of chocolate and fruit flavored candies.

SOLD
I have always been drawn to purples, blues and greens, so I wanted to paint this one again.  On the candy bags, there are a few changes, some leaves are added and the blueberries have been replaced with pieces of chocolate.

It was an exciting project to work on, as well as a real learning experience for me.

Hope your day is sunny!!

Still Life Daily Painting "Two of a Kind" 6x8, SOLD

SOLD

One of my favorite things to paint is a pear, especially if it involves back lighting.

Back lighting makes everything look dramatic, and my husband will tell you that no one loves drama more than I do!

There is a new week ahead....make the most of it!

ORIGINAL OIL STILL LIFE PEAR PAINTING, "TROIS POIRES AU SOLEIL", SOLD

Do you ever find a painting in your studio that somehow never gets posted?  That was the fate of this little 6x8" oil.

It's not that I forgot about it, or that I didn't think it worthy.  For some unknown reason, I just never got around to posting it!  So today is the day...hope you like it.

MORE MINI PAINTINGS, 3X5" SOLD

I found a pile of mini 3x5" canvases in my studio and had lots of fun painting them.  Sometimes I need a little change when I walk into the studio.

I somehow found it less stressful to paint these.  I am also working on some larger pieces and for me, it works well to do a few small ones before I jump into the larger project.

I  think most people could fine many unusual places to display these little pieces and they make a great unique gift.  Who said you cannot afford ORIGINAL ART!

THE KISS, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

The secret life of pears.  Who knows what goes on in the produce department of America's markets when we are not looking?

TRIO DE POIRES SUR LA PLAQUE, 6X8, Oil, Canvas Board, SOLD

I could have called this "Three Pears on a Plate"

That would have been an accurate description of this painting.

But somehow it sounds so much more elegant in French!  Why is that?
Enjoy!

DISTORTIONS, 6X6, OIL

When distant and unfamiliar and complex things are communicated to great masses of people, the truth suffers a considerable and often a radical distortion.  The complex is made over into the simple, the hypothetical into the dogmatic, and the relative into an absolute

HOME GROWN TOMATOES, 8X10, OIL

There ain't nothin' in the world that I like better
Than bacon 'n lettuce 'n homegrown tomatoes
Up in the mornin', out in the garden
Get you a ripe one, don't pick a hard 'un
All winter without 'em is a culinary bummer
I forgot all about the sweatin' and the diggin'
Every time I go out and pick me a big 'un

REFLECTED RED PEARS, 6X8, OIL

This doesn't really qualify as a "Christmas painting", but it does have the right colors.  I had a great time painting it, using both knife and brush.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas.  I'm off to the gym, trying to burn off all those extra calories!

LEMONS OF CAMPO DI' FIORI, 8X10

Campo di' Fiori is an ancient piazza in Rome where people still live and work.  I lived there for one week in a wonderful apartment that has probably been there since the days of the first pope.  On the Saturday I was there the piazza was devoted to a farmer's market. I found these wonderful lemons that taste similar to lemons we are familiar with, but are huge and lumpy.  It was a great week in Roma!

BLUE BOTTLE II, 6x8, OIL SOLD

I am attending a workshop this weekend with the great Qiang-huang.  If there is one person out there who has not visited his blog, I urge you to do so immediately!  Not only is he a great painter and excellent  professional instructer, he is a charming and interesting fellow.

This painting was done before the workshop...I hope to have an "after" painting to show you soon.  No promises, if I come out of it with a completed painting, it will be a workshop first for me.

DANCING ON MY WINDOW SILL, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

You never know where the perfect still life will be discovered. I tossed these tomatoes on my window sill and several hours later the sun made a perfect still life out of them.  Backlighting is a beautiful thing!
