PLUM HALF, 5X7, OIL, SOLD

I really enjoyed this one.  I like a lot of texture in my paintings so I have plenty of areas of thick paint on this one.  I hope I didn't overdue it.  I also have areas of paint so thin, the black gesso shows through.  The contrast is what excites me.

I don't think it is over done at all.
I really like the balance of abstract passages and shapes with an object we can identify. That is two elements that are tough to harmonize.
It is a very well done piece.

I'm plum crazy over this piece...........continue to see just how much I need to learn by looking at your work, Carol. Love the texture.

Carol: The texture is great and I can almost feel the paint being pressed into the canvas to make the plum stand out. It is beautiful just the way it is.

I like the 'thick & thin', but I'm crazy about how you made the 'juicy-nes' pop by popping little bits of pure color against colored neutrals. Beautiful!
