Daily Paint "Aechmea Chantinii Bromeliad" 8x10, Oil

Well, that is a real mouthful, especially first thing in the morning!

Hopefully, the painting is a little more appealing than the title.

I found these beautiful blooms on my porch and could not ignore them.  The delicate pink tones next to the leathery dusty blue green leaves are very dramatic.  I am not a successful gardener, but these plants thrive on neglect. The only care I give it is to cover it up when our winter cold fronts come through.

As lovely as it looks, beware, it is covered in thorns and spikes and will bite you without warning.  Hmmmmm, maybe that is why I tend to stay away from it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COURTNEY!!

Beautiful job on a tough to paint flower. I love the way your paintings pop in the dark frames.

I do love the long-lasting blooms of Bromeliads but try never to touch. Beautiful painting and your bloom "pops" with color from that dark green foliage.

Genie

PS - Hope you have a great retreat in the mountains this year.

I love the colors and the way you have painted it. best thing about them is how long the flower lasts.

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
