Dog Painting, Pet Portrait, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, "Forrest" 8x10" Oil

Meet Forrest, the beloved pet of Troy and Sharon.  Unfortunately, Forrest has crossed over the "rainbow bridge".  One of their friends, commissioned me to do this painting.

It is so nice to have such a loving, thoughtful friend!

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Small Barn Landscape Painting, Textured Art, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8" Original Oil, SOLD

This old barn, sits near our home, in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  I see it every day and knew I would paint it eventually.

SOLD

I painted with brush and palette knife, creating texture for interest.  I popped the autumn colors, for the same reason.

I almost always use a black frame, as it really shows off the colors.

Thanks for stopping bye today.

Floral Painting, Flower Painting, Rose Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 8x8x1.5" Oil SOLD

My favorite rose painting.

I was pleased with this one.

SOLD

Roses have always been difficult for me.  This time I tried to channel Elio.  I was determined not to describe each petal,  I did my best to remember the softness and translucency of a rose petal.  I wanted to pop the colors, but, not too much.  Finally, I made myself stop!

Yes, I like this one.....and I hope you do too.

When my cousin, Susan, posted this image of her beloved pets, I contacted her immediately for permission to paint them.  She was thrilled and today's post is the result.

Seascape Painting, Palette Knife Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8" Textured Seascape

I wanted to do a seascape, or actually a beach painting, somewhere between an abstract and impressionism.

SOLD

I wanted to record just my memories and impressions of trips to the beach.  I painted with a knife and tried to work quickly.

I tried not to think too much about the colors I was using or where I was putting them, but tried to keep it really instinctive.

I wanted plenty of texture in this piece.

It was a fun exercise!

Thanks for viewing my blog today.

Wildlife Print, Otter Print, Otter Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting

Otters are one of those cute little animals that we all love to feel have human characteristics.  The way they float on their backs, using their bellies for  a table.  I once read they link paws when they sleep, so they will not float away from each other.

It will come to you ready to hang.  The print extends around the sides of the canvas, no frame is required.
