ON THE ROAD AGAIN, 9X12, OIL, SOLD

On the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I just can't wait to get on the road again

Willie Nelson

Heading east on 1-40, out of Asheville, North Carolina.

We travel from Florida to North Carolina and back from March to November, so this is a scene I am very familiar with.  This particular morning, in late August, the sun had just popped over the edge of the mountain and bathed the sky in light, while the valley below was still dark.

Love the road scenes. On the road again has been my Mantra of late because this last year I have traveled at least 15,000 miles road tripping with my 80 year old mom from Oklahoma to Montana then over to Washington and down Hwy 101 to California then back to Oklahoma. Then just last month I took my mom again from Oklahoma to Texas to Montana and back home to Oklahoma again! Whew I'm tired again just talking about it. BTW, I-40 is just 15 miles N of me, but in Oklahoma! LOL

When I saw the paintings, I knew that this related to your twice-a-year trips to/from the mountains of NC. I know this section of Interstate well.

You have captured the scene beautifully and I love the early morning aura.

I'm always seeing paintings while whizzing (with both hands on the wheel) down the interstate.
It's wonderful to see a "highway" painting actually get painted! This one is really beautiful.
