Daily Painting, "Lowering the Sails", Original Oil

My husband and I used to own a sail boat.  Living on the coast of Florida, we spent a lot of time sailing the intercoastal waterway.

We loved to find a special little spot, throw out the anchor, lower the sails, and have a little picnic or a glass of wine.

Our best times were with our friends and boat co-owners, Rose and Randy.  It was so pleasant to spend time with them without the distractions of everyday life getting in the way.  No noise, no phones, just good friends and good food.

I love your sailboat pictures. Did you own a catamarand like this one? Being a sailboat owner myself, I totally understand the feeling of being out on the boat, sipping on a glass of wine.
The loose knife work really accenturates the soft light in the sky and on the water.

Sounds heavenly! Love the colors in your painting.

Perhaps it's just a typo, but "owe" was probably the right word after all... It seems honest.

lowering the sails...a lovely painting with a sentimental title, could be a great card as well.

Love the colors in the sky and the texture in the clouds and sail. So beautifully rendered.
