Pelican Print, Wildlife Print, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 11x14" Giclee on Canvas, Best Deal

I have set up a new section in my Etsy shop, called "Best Deals".  Since I have moved to a much smaller home, I find the need to downsize my inventory, along with everything else in my life.  At the moment I am featuring two items as "Best Deals".

Pelican Painting, Wildlife Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, SOLD

We spent a lovely afternoon at Pt Canaveral recently.  Of course, we were surrounded by birds.

I was inspired by this pelican, hunkered down on a piling.

SOLD
I realized that many of the paintings, that give me the most joy, are birds.  I am committed to painting more of them.

The biggest block is getting good photos to work from.

I want to share some of my other photos from this trip to Pt. Canaveral.

As you can see, it was a wonderful day.  Grandson came along, making it even more special!

Wildlife Painting, Flying Pelican, Daily Painting, 16x20x1.5" Oil Painting

I don't paint a lot of larger pieces, because storage is such a problem.  Lately, I have had the urge to paint larger.  This pelican seemed like the perfect subject.

I was lucky to get this image of a pelican, skimming over the ocean waves from my cousin.  Thanks for sharing with me, Susan.

Pelican Painting, Daily Painting, "Over the Waves" by Carol Schiff, 8x8" Oil SOLD

If you live on the coast, you are sure to see these guys every day and if you are an artist on the coast, you are expected to paint them.  I don't mind as they are such fun to watch.  They love skim over the waves, looking for breakfast, and then dive bomb and do a most clumsy looking entrance into the water.

SOLD

My 25% discount on already reduced merchandise will be ending today, so hop on over to my 'MAKE ME AN OFFER' section here and check out the selections.  This offer is good only on the reduced merchandise in this section.  Just use coupon code NEWYEAR25 to receive the discount.  Sorry, but this pelican painting does not qualify for the rebate!

Pelican Painting, "Big Bird", 6x8 oil SOLD

Not the Big Bird you were expecting?

SOLD

Living in Florida, I am expected to have a selection of pelican paintings at all times. This guy is not actually a Florida pelican, but lives in California.  He looks just like our guys though.  One of my Etsy buddies, Retagene, sent me her image and gave me permission to use it.

How do I know it's a guy?  It's that yellow on his head that gives him away.  When you see a pelican with a yellow head, you know he is looking for a girl friend.   Hmmmm, it would be nice if humans had such an obvious sign too.....might have helped me out back in the day!

Have a great week and thank you for viewing Carol Schiff Studio.

Daily Painting, Pelican, Florida "Hunker Down" 6x8", SOLD

The number one rule in Florida, during hurricane season, is learn to "hunker down".

SOLD
It simply means,do what you can and then wait it out.  Prepare for the storm, bring in supplies, get lots of books to read, stay dry, and wait!

This pelican had a "hunker down" attitude about him, with no hurricane in sight.  Actually, I think he was sleeping or at least, resting, but whenever I see one in this position, I think "hunker down".

I hope you have a chance to "hunker down" today.  It is not always a bad thing.......it's sometimes pleasant to  have time taken out of your hands and be forced to just rest.
