Where do I go from here?, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting

Traditionally, January is when we evaluate our performance over the last twelve months, and look at the direction we are headed.  I am a little late!

Artistically, I see nothing but question marks.  I want to have a clear plan, a path to follow and mark my progress, but alas, it evades me.

I looked through my posts from last year, and picked out my favorite pieces, hoping against hope that they will tell me where I am headed.

 Abstract Expressionism?

Maybe....

Thick Paint?

 Impressionism?

 Brushwork?
 Knife?

Really thin paint?

Or does it really matter?

All this thinking is making my head hurt!

I am happy I found this many pieces, from last year, that speak to ME.  I am happy with them which makes me happy with me.

Maybe 2018 will find me treading the straight and narrow.....but somehow, I don't think so.

Thank you all, for joining me on my crazy, unplanned journey!

Wildlife Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 8x10" Oil

One of my favorite subjects is wildlife....but it is difficult.  For me, the most difficult aspect is getting that perfect image to work from.

I am lucky to have a friend, Kathy Garvey, who loves to visit the everglades, the wetlands, the beaches, taking wildlife photos.  She is so very generous, as she allows her friends to use her images.

Both of these paintings are from images Kathy, and her brother John, have shared.  What a wonderful gift they have given me!

If you are an photographer, consider sharing your work.  I am sure it will be appreciated!

Pastel Days, Small Abstract Painting, Palette Knife Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting 8x10x1.5" Oil

This piece was inspired by a sunset on Key Largo.  It was a softer, hazy day, but the sunset was just as beautiful as the more showy, vibrant displays we usually see.

SOLD

The perfect end to a perfect day.  Hope your day is perfect too!

My studio moving sale is over.  I want to thank everyone who purchased art from me during this sale.  As you know, I moved from Florida to North Carolina, and it was important for me to lower my inventory.

I am happy to announce.....the sale was a success!!

Today, I am posting a couple of my favorites, that are still available.

Thanks for viewing my blog today
