Pineapple and Mango Artwork, Fruit Oil Painting, Framed Still Life, 14x18" Original Oil Painting, Daily Painting,Small Oil Painting
When I first started painting, 25 years ago, I did many, many still life paintings. I must have painted every apple or pear I could get my hands on.
This is a more recent painting, of pineapple and mango. It is 14x18" and is professionally framed in a gold wood frame. I have it listed at 50% off in my Etsy store, quite the bargain. If you are interested, you can check it out here:

Floral Still Life, Hydrangea Painting, Second Bloom, Daily Painting, SOLD
Last winter, I spent three months on the east coast of Florida. It involved many walks on the beach, and my painting was full of seagulls, and seascapes.
I also painted this hydrangea still life. I hope you like it.

Still Life Painting, Daily Painting, Small oil Painting,
Every once in awhile, I like to review my painting files. I think it is extremely helpful, to see how your painting style has changed over the years.
When I started painting, I did lots of still life. These two have encouraged me, to get back in the still life mode, doing set-ups in my studio.
Sometimes we just need to shake things up a little. I think I am there, now. Let's get a little new inspiration!

Flower photos for you to use
Last month we were enjoying our condo in North Carolina, trying to get it ready for visits from family and friends. It is so beautiful here during at least three of the four seasons. I have not been here in winter and cannot speak to that, although I imagine the snow covered mountains would be a sight to behold.
On this trip, there are flowers blooming everywhere. Each morning, I set out for a walk, with my trusty camera in hand. Come along with me.......

| A garden of hosta |
 |
| Calla Lily |
 |
| Rose abound! |
 |
| Begonia |
 |
| A cute little playhouse, or maybe a gardening shed? |
 |
| Sit for a moment and enjoy the scenery. |
 |
| Mountains surround the area, |
 |
| Who knew day lilies grown wild? |
 |
| I love purple flowers. Do you know their name? |

Fruit Still Life Oil Painting, Pineapple and Mango on Glass, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting
 |
| Purchase here
Today, I am featuring this pineapple and mango oil painting, in a custom frame. The piece is framed to 19x23". The painting shows the fruit sitting on glass, and may be purchased with or without the frame.
Marketing, in my opinion, is one of the hardest parts of being an artist. I don't know any artists who enjoy this part of the game. I will let you know how this idea works for me.
Thanks for viewing my blog today.

MY Painting in the Joker Movie!, Small Oil Paintings, Daily Painting, Still Life Painting,
How lucky can I be?
One of my paintings was recently purchased for set design in a new movie! The Warner Brothers movie, was filmed in Harlem, Manhattan and the Bronx., and stars Joaquin Phoenix and Robert De Niro. The title is "Joker".
The painting is one I completed in a workshop a few years back.
I am thrilled, and only hope it doesn't end up on the cutting room floor.
The movie was recently released, and I must say, IT WAS A GIANT HIT!!

Where do I go from here?, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting
Traditionally, January is when we evaluate our performance over the last twelve months, and look at the direction we are headed. I am a little late!
I looked through my posts from last year, and picked out my favorite pieces, hoping against hope that they will tell me where I am headed.
Abstract Expressionism?
Maybe....
Thick Paint?
Impressionism?
Brushwork?
Knife?
Really thin paint?
Artistically, I see nothing but question marks. I want to have a clear plan, a path to follow and mark my progress, but alas, it evades me.
I looked through my posts from last year, and picked out my favorite pieces, hoping against hope that they will tell me where I am headed.
Abstract Expressionism?
Maybe....
Thick Paint?
Impressionism?
Really thin paint?
Or does it really matter?
All this thinking is making my head hurt!
I am happy I found this many pieces, from last year, that speak to ME. I am happy with them which makes me happy with me.
Maybe 2018 will find me treading the straight and narrow.....but somehow, I don't think so.
Thank you all, for joining me on my crazy, unplanned journey!
Hubby keeps me grounded!

Pear and Plum Still Life, Palette Knife Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8" Oil on canvas panel, sold
Have not done a still life, or a palette knife painting for a while, so this one was in my comfort zone.
 |
| SOLD I naturally tend to lean towards cool colors, so I had fun working all my favorite color relationships. |
This scene is a repaint, from years ago. I couldn't find the original photograph, but I did have a photo of the first painting, so I used that as a guide. The first painting was done with a brush, which is why I decided to mix it up a little, by using a palette knife this time around.
Hope you enjoy it!

Recently Sold Paintings, Daily Paintings, Small Oil Paintings
I was looking back through my sales for the end of the year, and thought I would post some original paintings that have sold.
These are all original paintings.
It is easy to spot a trend with sales of prints, but not so much for originals.
