I call this "Roadside Bouquet" because I was walking a country road in the Blue Ridge Mountains last summer, and I collected all these wonderful flowers blooming in ditches and fields.  Wild day lily, Queen Ann's Lace, daisy and purple clover abound!

I was in the zone, while painting this, slinging paint and making no effort to be true to the image I was working from.  No, my orange day lilies don't look like day lilies and I am fine with that.

It was one of my favorite home made bouquets...here is the picture.

I couldn't find anything to paint, so, I decided to paint my breakfast.  On this day, I was waiting for Hurrican Irma to pass by us.  After an extremely stressful week, with reports ranging from landfall on the east coast of Florida to the west coast, and back again, it is headed for Tampa as I paint.

SOLD

 Our house is encased in metal panels and no sunlight or noise is heard outside.  It is sunny, or raining.....I have not idea. Later, the wind will howl and the walls may shake, but our primary fear is flooding inside out home.

Painting has helped me get through the day and taken my mind off what is happening outside.

I have to admit, I enjoyed painting this scene.  My choices of subject matter are always based on emotion and on this day......the waves filled my need for action.

Appalachian Mountain Cabin Landscape Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, Asheville Palette Knife Textured Art

 This painting is either the Blue Ridge Mountains or the Smoky Mountains.  It is difficult to know when you leave one and enter the other.

Either way, it is definitely the Asheville area of  Western North Carolina.

The area is often misty or "smoky" in the mornings, but it usually burns off by mid-day.

This is one of the many, small, white, churches, found in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  They all have their own charm, and I love driving around in search of them.
