MORNING COMMUTE, 12X16, OIL SOLD

Life in the big city is tough.  You have to carve out your own space where ever you can find it.  When I saw these two men in the New York City subway station, seemingly unaware of each other, I realized how much I enjoy the relative freedom, space, and unhurried pace of my little home town.

Of course, it all comes down to what you are accustomed to in your life.

They both seem perfectly comfortable with their situation.  I would much rather be sitting at home, with my feet up, in my jams with my morning coffee and paper.

Time is running short on my painting give-away.  Check out Art by Karena to enter your name.  The drawing will take place on the 14th.

This is very nice, I am with you, not much on the city, I like home, with me feet up, fuzzy dog nearby!

While I am really glad I do not commute, I love this picture. What a great slice of the American experience in big cities.

Fondly,
Glenda

I also love where and how I get to live but I do have a little dream to spend one year living in New York City. Of course in this dream I don't have to work, I have unlimited income to freely wander and explore the city, oh and my 30 year old trim energetic body back :)

Carol,
This Morning Commute is so good! Love the posture of each guy and the way you captured their absorption in their own space is wonderful. All over fabulous figurative!
I am with you though on the small home town goodness:)

I am with you. I need my space and please don't get too close to me.

I'm not a fan of city life either. (I avoid going!) But I love works like this depicting everyday life/buildings/traffic. I guess I prefer to visit urban life via paintings!!!

I think you have great insight into capturing posture and attitude in your paintings... This is in interesting study of two souls passing in the city.
