Daily Painting, Oil, "The Gull", 6x8" SOLD

If you live close to the sea, these guys are a part of your everyday life.  This one looks a little serious, like he has a job to do and is going to get it done.

When my grandson was four, we went to the beach for a picnic.  When I casually mentioned to him that the sea gulls were after his sandwich, he gobbled it down.  Unfortunately, he didn't want to go to the beach for years afterwards.  The mere mention of the "beach" conjured up thoughts of a bird attack ala Alfred Hitchcock!  Bad Grandma!!

Love your little sea gull Carol and have a funny story about them.
I was walking one day at Sea World and munching on cheese and crackers, when a sea gull swooped down and body-slammed into my head + stole the cracker + cheese. Felt like a tree branch fell on me! They are vicious!

Lovely bird, Carol. When my son was young, he threw a large portion of one of those extra large ice cream sandwiches, you know the kind between cookies, to the gulls. Of course the Alpha kept all the other gulls away. Being the pig that he was he decided to swallow it whole rather than take his time nibbling.

We thought the gull was going to die.

He stood in place screaming repeatedly the most awful scream! I can still see his head pointed straight up with his mouth wide open, screaming in agony. I guess they get brain freeze or something terrible too...

Great seagull,Carol. I love the texture and colours. I was thinking, hmmm, he's got his eye on someones good, and then I read your commentary. Very funny.

That was a funny story Carol! Looks like the kid had trauma because of your bird story. Great painting!

gros bisous.

Funny story, but true. I remember being at the Jersey shore and the gulls were attacking!

Love it. So realistic and bit moody.
