Expressionist Abstract Painting, Imagine Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, SOLD, 8x10 Oil Painting

Our paint group, Pieces of Eight, decided to spice up our lives a little bit, by issuing an art challenge each month.  This month, the theme is "Imagine"

I could not get the great John Lennon's song "Imagine" out of my mind!  If fact, as I write this, I am humming the song.

So, this is my interpretation.
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky

You may say I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will be as one

Check out Pieces of Eight blog  and view the other entries in our challenge.

Have a great day!

Have you seen Kay Zahn's new challenge blog?  Every month she picks a site at Google Street View as a challenge.  The site this month is the state of Iowa, so I found this little farm house and gave it a try. Go to Streetview Paint Off to join or to vote for your favorite painting  Thanks Kay, for giving us another place to showcase our art.

DSDF ROWER, OIL 8x10

I am sure you all recognize this as the challenge painting from Karin Jurick's blog, Different Strokes from Different Folks. Week after week Karin posts photos that appear to be "easy".

Ha! I should know better than to be lulled into the fire, but no, I convince myself that this one is easy and will not take long. Ha again! They take me twice as long as any other painting and I always hate the way they turn out and WHY IS HER HEAD SO SMALL?? Oh well, always another photo on the horizon.
