UP CHILDERS' BARN ROAD, 5X7", SOLD

Living on the side of a mountain is not easy...all those hills to climb, clinging on the edge of the bluff....

The natives in North Carolina, live mostly in the valleys and the foothills, the summer folk live on top of the mountains.

I live in the valley.  There is an old saying "It's better to have a friend with a boat, than to have a boat" which I have changed to "It's better to have a friend with a mountain view, than to haul everything you own up the side of a mountain!"

MOUNTAIN HOME, 6X8, OIL

In my Tennessee mountain home
Life is as peaceful as a baby's sigh
In my Tennessee mountain home
Crickets sing in the fields near by

Dolly Parton

If it's good enough for Dolly, it's good enough for me! Just put your feet up and relax awhile.

MOUNTAIN BARN II, 6X8, OIL

A few weeks ago, I posted a 8x10 similar painting. This was the study for the 8x10. I really liked this one best, so I thought I would post it too.
