TANGERINE, 5X7, OIL,SOLD

You can tell what time of year it is without looking outside, just by the still life paintings on the blogs. Everyone is doing oranges, so I found these juicy tangerines at the grocery and brought a few home to paint and enjoy! I do have to say that blue/orange is one of my favorite combinations. Anyway, my tangerine curse is still with me. I have never painted a tangerine or orange that I am satisfied with. I feel this is an improvement, at least, as I didn't wipe it.

Ah yes. It seems we need a burst of citrus now don't we! The warm, bright orange tones look great - and the violet in the shadows is nice too!
